i have decided that i would one day like to have something named after me. a university, perhaps. or maybe a library. or even a street! however, i'll have to achieve some form of notable greatness in my life. so i'll have to figure out how to make that one happen...

yesterday was the dedication of the draper, utah temple. the photo above is our group that went. i'm so grateful that i was able to go, because it was an amazing experience, and one that not everyone gets to have. when the gilbert temple is finally built and dedicated, i really hope i'll get to go. it's really an experience unlike one i've ever had. i'm not sure of the estimated date for the gilbert, az temple, but i think it would be cool to be married there. as long as it's not in like seven years. but the mesa temple is so beautiful and unique, and it's the temple that i grew up with. so i might like to get married there? all i know is that i'm not getting married anywhere but inside a temple of the lord.

today my roommates and i were at smith's (yeah, there's still smith's in utah. it hasn't yet been taken over by the likes of fry's) and "something" by the beatles (which happens to be one of my all-time favorite songs) was playing. i was in the bread aisle, deciding which loaf of carbohydrated goodness would be the best bang for my buck and quietly singing along, when i heard a man behind me, pushing his cart past. he was singing a little louder than i was and i glanced to my left to see what he looked like, expecting (hoping, rather) that it would be an attractive young man who just happened to have great taste in music, and that we would both be singing and then our eyes would meet and we'd fall madly in love in an instant. instead i found a man in his late fifties to early sixties, with silvery white hair, smiling carelessly while crooning, "you're asking me will my love grow? i don't know, i don't know." it made me really happy to think about how although his life and mine were probably completely different, we have the beatles in common.
